right now is my fleetwood mac, the dance, time of life. when fleetwood mac performed the dance concert, they were around 48 to 51 years old which is my age now. if you watch the dance, you will see a group of musicians playing at their peak and sounding amazing. if you go on youtube and look up fleetwood mac playing live now, it is almost unlistenable. the performances are just cringe. we are 25 years on from the dance and time has flown from them. the one one lesson learned is that everything i do going forward is just going to be less and less than today. the quality and lifeforce will be dimisinished. however, one of my theories is that if you are trying to reproduce something you did 20-25 years ago, then obviously you will know a difference but if you are still activiely creating something new, since there is nothing to compare it to, it would not be judged or compared to what you did then. makes me appreciate the stubbornness and unwavering stance of neil young and bob dylan for only wanting to play current creations. even looking at bands like the make up and pavement try to recreate their 90's vibe is pretty cringe. so, we're all falling apart and need to focus on more important things than recreating the past. live now.
